Responsibilities and Duties

Job Overview The Area Sales Manager – North will be responsible for growing Idori’s business across North India by developing distributors, expanding retail coverage, driving secondary sales, improving outlet visibility, and managing the field sales team.
The role is highly field-oriented and requires a person who can build markets from a selective base.
Responsibilities and Duties Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Growth
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the North region.
  • Drive both primary sales to distributors and secondary sales from distributors to retail outlets.
  • Build city-wise and distributor-wise sales plans.
  • Identify high-potential towns and outlets for Hello Panda and Yan Yan.
  • Focus on sustainable repeat sales, not only one-time billing.
2. Distributor Management
  • Appoint new distributors in priority markets where required.
  • Manage existing distributors and ensure regular servicing of outlets.
  • Monitor distributor stock, rotation, outstanding, claims, and ROI.
  • Ensure distributors maintain proper stock of fast-moving SKUs and flavours.
  • Prevent overstocking, expiry accumulation, and slow-moving inventory.
3. Market Expansion
  • Expand Idori’s presence in Delhi/NCR, Punjab, Haryana, UP, and Kashmir.
  • Open premium grocery stores, modern trade outlets, general trade stores, school/college-area outlets, travel points, and high-footfall retail locations.
  • Develop selective but strong market coverage instead of spreading too thin.
  • Build retailer confidence in imported confectionery/snacking products.
4. Team Management
  • Manage sales officers, sales executives, merchandisers, and distributor salesmen.
  • Prepare beat plans and market visit schedules.
  • Conduct joint market visits with the sales team.
  • Train the team on product selling, scheme communication, display, and retailer handling.
  • Review daily productivity, outlet coverage, and order generation.
5. Trade Marketing & Visibility
  • Ensure proper product display, shelf placement, and visibility.
  • Execute local trade schemes and promotional plans.
  • Track competitor activity in chocolates, biscuits, wafers, imported snacks, and children’s confectionery.
  • Recommend local promotions for priority markets.
  • Ensure Hello Panda and Yan Yan are placed in the right impulse-buy locations.
6. Claims & Commercial Control
  • Monitor expiry, damage, and rate-difference claims.
  • Ensure claims are genuine, documented, photographed, and verified.
  • Coordinate with accounts/logistics for billing, dispatches, claims, and payment follow-up.
  • Keep outstanding under control.
7. Reporting
  • Submit weekly market visit reports.
  • Track distributor-wise sales, outlet additions, active outlets, SKU placement, outstanding, claims, and competitor schemes.
  • Provide monthly business review for the North region.

Job Overview The Area Sales Manager – East & Northeast will be responsible for developing Idori’s sales and distribution network across East and Northeast India. The person will manage distributors, expand outlet coverage, build the sales team, improve retail visibility, and drive sustainable sales growth.
This role requires strong local market knowledge, distributor development ability, and willingness to travel extensively.
Responsibilities and Duties Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Development
  • Achieve sales targets for East and Northeast India.
  • Drive primary and secondary sales through distributors and field teams.
  • Build state-wise and city-wise growth plans.
  • Focus on priority markets such as Kolkata, Siliguri, Guwahati, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and other relevant towns.
  • Develop the market gradually with strong distributor servicing and repeat sales.
2. Distributor Appointment & Management
  • Identify, evaluate, appoint, and develop distributors in key markets.
  • Assess distributor capability in terms of investment, infrastructure, retail reach, sales team, and FMCG experience.
  • Ensure distributor stock discipline, payment discipline, and market servicing.
  • Monitor distributor ROI and make sure the product remains attractive for the channel.
  • Review distributor performance monthly.
3. Market Expansion
  • Build Idori’s presence in premium grocery, general trade, modern trade, school/college areas, high-footfall retail, and travel-oriented outlets.
  • Increase numeric distribution in selected towns.
  • Build depth in important cities before expanding too widely.
  • Develop Northeast markets carefully through strong distributor selection and regular market visits.
4. Sales Team Management
  • Manage sales executives, sales officers, merchandisers, and distributor salesmen.
  • Set beat plans and daily market coverage.
  • Conduct joint working with team members.
  • Train the team on product selling, retailer handling, scheme execution, and display standards.
  • Monitor productivity and discipline.
5. Retail Execution & Visibility
  • Ensure good shelf placement and impulse visibility for Hello Panda and Yan Yan.
  • Execute displays, trade schemes, sampling, and local promotions where required.
  • Ensure product availability across key SKUs and flavours.
  • Track competition from chocolates, biscuits, wafers, imported snacks, and local confectionery brands.
6. Claims, Expiry & Stock Control
  • Track expiry and damage claims carefully.
  • Verify distributor claims with proper documentation and photos.
  • Monitor slow-moving stock and act before expiry risk increases.
  • Coordinate with accounts and logistics for billing, dispatches, payments, and claim settlement.
7. Reporting
  • Submit weekly market and sales reports.
  • Track distributor-wise performance, active outlets, new outlets, stock position, outstanding, claims, and competitor activity.
  • Prepare monthly business review for the East and Northeast region.
Specific Skills
  • Strong distributor appointment and management ability.
  • Good knowledge of Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Northeast FMCG distribution.

Experience • 5–9 years of FMCG sales experience. • Experience in confectionery, snacks, biscuits, chocolates, beverages, imported foods, or premium FMCG preferred. • Must have experience in East India markets. • Northeast market experience will be a strong advantage
